32 Bit questions

Hi, a few days ago I downloaded a AVI file from WinMX. My mediaplayerscoudln't play them so I wasnt sure if it was a bad file, or bad media players. So I downloaded a few media players and they didnt work. So I uninstalled them.... and now I cant download stuff or even open up WinMX or Kazaa and my 32-bit color thing is gone in my Propterties and the colors and stuff are messed up and I was hoping you guys could help me with this and see what I could do to bring back that 32-bit thing and also I cant change my screen size like 800x600 pixel. Well hope u can help, later

Drivers...........sounds like you have corrupted drivers. Reinstall them and see if it fixes your problem

. . . and if you must use KaZaa (which I recommend ridding yourself of as soon as possible) make sure you have a real-time on-access virus scanner and spyware program running with up-to-date definitions. For more info you can look in on http://www.spywareinfo.com

If it's an XP system, you have the option of trying a System Restore to a restore point prior to your video drivers current problem. If IE is hosed badly, you can do a repair install of IE. If XP itself acts up badly as well, you can also try a repair install of that. ---If it's a Win9x system, after the virus/spyware scans, try a repair install of IE and an uninstall/reinstall of the video drivers (as LocoCoyote recommended)

By using KaZaa, you agree to be a part of a network called "Brilliant Digital" [it's in the fine print of the Licence Agreement]--and your machine's security (in my view, anyway) is fairly compromised.

Best of luck

Hope it works out. It's an easier fix in XP. Have him check in again if he runs into trouble with the drivers.
