Where Did Windows HELP Go? and What Is Comreads and Comused?

I have a couple of files in my C directory of Windows 2000 pro called "comreads" and "comused." They are .dbg files. Does anyone know what these are for?

Also, my HELP topics directory from Start button Help and the same from the tool bar on top of the window does not get anything but closes the directories and brings me back to the desktop.

They seem to be files created by HyperTerminal. Seem to be somewhat problematic in Win2000, so much so that Microsoft created a fix: available from the Knowledge Base article http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;815490

If you use that newer version of HyperTerminal, you won't see those files anymore.

As far as the Help files go, the repair install should take care of them.
