Cant access secondary after clean install
Windows XP/both partitions were NTFS.Data backed up to secondary drive/fresh install of Win xP and the secondary is showing again as a drive letter.Problem when trying to acess the drive letter says that the partition has to be reformatted thereby losing all data.Anyone run into this before?

When you ran the windows installer, are you sure you didn't reformatted the second partition? Did you create partitions or just select one of them for Win to install itself to?
This is usually the message that appears when the partition is not formatted.

hi dogg
try runing chk disk on the drive. also if the 2 hdd drives are on the same ide cable try puting the 2nd drive on ide 2 as a master and last try runing convert.exe To convert a partition to NTFS, follow these steps: Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK. At the command prompt, type CONVERT driveletter: /FS:NTFS. Convert.exe attempts to convert the partition to NTFS. i know the partition is ntfs allready but it may fix the mdr of the drive so you can get your data back
