XP freezes whenever i try to start
whenever I start XP pro it goes to the login screen fine, but then when i type in my password and click to log in it begins the process and then freezes, i mean everything, the mouse stops moving and the sound just hits a note and keeps playing it. There is no way i can get into windows. This started after I have had the computer about a month. what can i do?

What are your system specs? Is this a store bought or home built computer?
Try changing the IDE cable. Cricket

I simply switched the slots, nothing was wrong when i opened the case, they were pushed in tightly and so were the ide cables. When i switched the slots the ram sticks were in everything was perfect.
