Swappable Hard Drives in XP?
I am ordering one of those drive bays that allows you to "hot swap" your hard drives. I need this for audio recording to keep clients separate. Obviously I will still have one permanent hard drive.
I have 98se right now but I read on one of the product descriptions for the hot swap bay that it's not compatible on XP. Then I found an article which made me thing that it was, at least on XP Pro. Is this possible on Windows XP? Thanks, Jeremy |

yes all removable hdd bays work on xp but you must switch the computer off to remove the drive and fit the new one each time

Thanks for the reply. I guess there is still a benefit from it. The bays are only 13.95 on ebay, and smaller hard drives are pretty affordable also. I wish there was a way to do it while its on though.

a better option may be to get a pci EIDE controler card then you can fit 4 hdd on the card and partition each drive in to 3 to give you 12 drives
