I recently upgraded a lot of the hardware in a pc which made it run a lot faster than before. However in recent weeks the computer has began to slow down when I browse folders which I don't use on a day to day basis. I run a defrag every night and a total clean up (just the standard windows system tools) but this still has no effect on the speed of browsing through folders.
Does anybody have any tips or tricks that could help to speed up the system. (Processing is fine as programs install very fast and process data very fast). Thank you in advance. Adrian |

Try running virus scans and spyware scans (spybot and/or adaware).
Delete the contents of C:\windows\cookies, & C:\windows\temp, C:\windows\temporary internet files.
