XP Blue Screen start failure

I have been having a problem lately with my computer auto restarting especially when I do a restart. Not as often from a cold boot (computer off). However, it does happen then too.

The blue screen Message is "unmountable_Boot_Volume

Any ideas?

Asus Mother board P4B266-C
512 MB RAM
ATI 7500 Video Card

Didn't notice when it really started, doesn't seem to coincide with anything I can remember?

Any suggestions as to how to troubleshoot and fix?

Thank you in advance.

Check to see that the IDE cables are installed fully.

Check the power connectors.

Go to the hard drive manufacturer's website and download the diagnostic utilities and test the hard drive.

Which OS are you using?
