PCI drivers

I resolved the AGP driver issue on the new MSI board, but I'm still left with yellow question marks in the device manager for PCI Ethernet Controller and PCI Universal Serial Bus. I installed the Via 4in1's but they didn't clear it up. Anyone got suggestions/advice? I'm now running Win98SE.

thanks,

tranman

Afterthought: Could I be getting those errors because I don't have the USB connectors hooked up to the board yet, and that I don't have a modem installed?

If you have a modem or ethernet card in the pci slot that doesn't have the drivers installed yet will cause that.

No cards in yet

I haven't installed anything yet. The only thing in so far is the video card.

More

I added a PCI sound card. Works fine. Tried adding a US Robotics internal modem, and it only offered me COM1 or COM2 to install. Here's what my device manager looks like now:

! PCI Ethernet Controller
! PCI Universal Serial Bus
! PCI Serial Controller

As I mentioned before, I installed the Via4in1s, which I thought would solve the problem. It didn't. I have a feeling I will have to get these resolved before I can progress with the modem. I know it is late, but I need help. Cricket, are you out there?

Cool

You need to install the drivers for the listed devices. USB and serial controller should be on mobo CD and ethernet should have come with a driver CD or diskette.

I'll look again

but I didn't see it on the CD that came with the motherboard. Hopefully, I can pull it off the MSI site if I can't find it.

thanks
