Internet connection problem

Hi
I have a Sony computer running Windows 95
I just did System Recovery with original CD-s
The problem I have is:
AOL is not working because of network configuraton has a problem and MSN is not working for the same reason

Help files suggest to remove network adapter from Windows and then again to reinstall

I did it and still I have yhe same problem

Are you on dial-up?? If so did you remove the dial-up adapter and add it back, I do remember that win 95 neeeds a patch for dial up, I believe it was winsock2, but if it worked before something has to be different now. And of course if you can't get online you can't download the patch.. I don't suppose there is also an actual win95 disk is there..

There is a newer version of DUN for 95. I think it is version 1.3 or something. But from what I remember AOL uses its own dial up network client so that would not matter.

Can you reinstall AOL.

I think Lwd is correct, in that AOL doesn't need it and it is that newer version of DUN, but I would try reinstall of AOL. The patches for win95 should be downloadable from:
support.microsoft.com
Not sure if they have quite archived win95 yet or not but I think they are close..
