right click menu on IE6
What is the accurate name for the menu that pops up when you right click the main screen when on line with IE6?
Secondly, how do you remove options on this menu. The menu looks like: back forward ________ Save background as... and so on..... Please help. I cannot get rid of a web-link that wormed its' way into my computer. |

pete, sorry we missed this post and haven't answered earlier
Everybody I know and everywhere I've seen just calls it the "Right click menu" but I'm sure it does have a more professional name which I know but I can't remember As for the link that's wormed its way on to the computer, could you please explain? I'm sure it's quite easy to remove Jim |

The link is on the context menu(right click) when using IE6. It actually says HARDCORE MOVIES and when I even click(left or right) it sends me to a website that I never went on.(I know, sure you haven't)But really I did not download anything like that to my computer.

In Win 2000 and Win XP the registry entry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt contains the additional entries for the right-click menu in IE. Check here to see if you can find the entry that you want to remove. If it's there you should be able to solve your problem by deleting it.

Be sure to back up your registry before making any changes. Check the link below for the procedure.
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;322756 To open the registry editor: Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK. Remember, you only have to remove the registry key for Hardcore Movies. Last edited by Boone; 06-01-2003 at 02:24 AM. |
