Question "quick time" question

I know this is simple but I can't remember how to fix it. How do I keep quick time from automatically starting when I log on? Do I/Can I dissable this quick time auto start for each user?

do you mean the system try icon? or the actual startup?
to get rid of the systry icon...go to control panel
right-click quicktime the open. go to the BROWSER PLUG-IN tab and then take a check mark out of QUICKTIME SYSTEM TRY ICON.

to get rid of the program at startup i have to know what OS you are using.
in Windows 98 and XP(not sure about others) go to run the type "msconfig" without inverted commas. go to the last tab which is STARTUP and take a check mark out of QTTASK.the u can restart whenever you want

It didn't quite come out like you suggested. Let me re-define the problem. When I start up/log on my PC the little "quick time Q" is displayed by the clock. The only way to make it go away is to "right click" on it and click on exit. But it comes back when I log off and then log back on.

Open regedit.
Navigate to HKLM/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/run and delete the entry.

That seems to be what I want to do, I just thought there was an easier way to do it.

Some versions of QT will let you remove them from the taskbar. Some will not. The option is not there in the dropdown box.
If the option is not there, then editing the registry is the only way.
I had exactly the same situation, XP Pro SP1.
