Question software upgrade? registry?

I purchased CD burning software online some time ago and I registered it and all was well. I allowed a friend of mine use my PC/Program and a screen came up to automatically check for upgrades online (I always said "no") well he didn't and I'm not sure what he did/checked. The problem is now when I go to use this program it says "21 day free evaluation has ended". I even uninstalled and reinstalled the program but I get the same message. Is this type of info stored in the Registry? If it is can I delete it and reinstall the software? The program is currently not installed on my PC. What do I do?

Is this program listed in the Registry somewhere? if so can I delete it from there?

hi kbkatz
when you purchased the program did thay give you a registry key for it ?
allso when you lent it to your frend did you let him use your computer or did he install the program on his ?
my guess is he updated the program to the latest version
but did not re enter the registry key. or you have to pay for the upgrade
your best bet is to contact the program venders support section and explane the problam. iam afraid telling you how to unlock softwair is against the rules of this forum

He was using my PC. When I first got the program it was temporarily "free", then I purchased the registration key from the company.

if it fails do you have the origanall setup file if so run it and the key shoud work or if you have winxp try a systom restor.

I have already tried that. I'd bet the information that is keeping me from reinstalling it is stored in the registry. Does anyone know of a Registry Cleaner for Win XP? or am I on the wrong track?...

The Program is Clone CD and I'm not sure which version, I don't have installed anymore, unless I can get this problem resolved.
