Pissed Can't Defrag

I have XP Home Edition on a Dell 8200. My problem is with " chkdsk /f ". I had tried numerious times to run it but it wouldn't run but one time. I saw a free program called DrvCareXP by Lexum Free Ware that would schedule it to run . Well I set it up to run this morning but it didn't . Now I can't defrag. because it says that chkdsk is scheduled to run. Rebooted several times but no good. Please help.

Get rid of the "free "program. There's nothing wrong with the defrag built into XP. It runs in the background while you do other things and mine takes less than 10 minutes to defrag a 40GB harddrive. I do this every week.

The defrag . is xp. The free program only schedules it.

Can you go to "System Restore" and restore it back before your problem began?
