view .exe

Is there a program to "view" an .exe file, like the way you can view other files with Windows Explorer?
I have used WinRar before, but it can't be used for all .exe files...

Hi Dan

Microsoft has a free download to view aspects (like the Registry entries for classes, etc) of OLE objects available at http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000.../oleview-o.asp

MS doesn't have a viewer for the code itself, since that would be a big help to their competition.

QuickView Plus by Inso can view just about anything else - it too will give a summary of an .exe files properties, but will not show code. I'm not sure if a debugger or compiler would let you view a line, I haven't done any programming in years - and even then I was a raw beginner.

Maybe one of our programming minded techs will have more info for you.
