Windows XP and networking
I noticed something on my computer yesterday and was wondering if my instincs are correct or I am making a big deal over nothing.
I have 3 computers running on my network, and they are all Windows XP. Yesterday when I looked under "My Network Places" I noticed a link to Wisconsin University. I never accessed them before so I decided to open it up. Of course it contained folders, not big files, just small files. Anyways I quickly deleted the link from my computer. My question is, did that link mean someone hacked my computer? I never accessed them before and I am kind of wondering how it got onto my computer. No one else uses my computer except for myself. Like I said, I could be making a big deal over nothing. I use a hardware firewall in my router and after this incident I am installing a software firewall. If anyone can give me a answer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

I'm not entirely sure but I'm convinced I've seen this link on one of my machines before. It's highly you've been hacked, I think it might just be a default connection sample installed with Windows.
Don't quote me on that though ![]() Jim |
