Limitations with OS??

Hey guys. Im over here at work and I ran into this problem with Quickbooks Pro Edition 2003...On one computer we have Win XP, and on the one Im on now, we have Win98, and when we try and get multi user on, we got this msg Im gonna add...

What does it mean? Its working now, and we both are on and having no problems, but just for future reference, I would like to know why we might be getting that msg..?

Thanks for the help guys

The only thing I can think of right away is that Intuit perhaps prefers to encrypt such crucial files, and prefers to do that with an NTFS drive in Win2k or WinXP.

There might be something on the Intuit website on this one.

Ok, Ill give that a shot, thanks Gary.

But this crossed my mind today at work. Ive only been there for about a week, and they got me working on the inventory database, so anyways, when we first tried to get multi user going for Quickbooks, we got that msg, and then we did this update that they supposedly hadnt dont in a while, but they didnt completly exit Quickbooks on the other PC, before restarting quickbooks in the other office, which would have fully installed the updates... So what Im thinking is this...Once the updates were fully installed, and Quickbooks was exited on both computers, and evertyhing was fully updated, and both were started on Multi User...Cause now we dont get this problem anymore...its was a dumbluck fix I guess you could say...

Either way I will check out their site and see what they have to say, once again, I appreciate the input Gary

I like your idea that a patch hadn't fully applied - that's a possibility. I have some friends who do auditing work, and they like Quickbooks a lot. Glad it's crunching numbers in style again.
