problem with xp
okay, yesturday i tried deleting that 811493 update from microsoft (i shouldnt have even worried about it cuz my comp was running perfect) but after i deleted it and restarted, my comp would get to the win xp screen then restart, so i reinstalled windows xp over everything and now my comp takes like an extra minute to boot and its a lot slower. is there anything i can do to solve this? i think im just gonna format tomorrow. arg!!!!

Before the agony of re-format, did you try system restore? Did you put in the XP disk and try the repair?

Go into BIOS, set your first boot devise to CDROM. Boot up with the XP CD in and you should get the options for new install or repair an existing installation.
