I finally did it!
After many tries [and lots of coasters] I have made a win2k cd with sp3 integrated. It is bootable with extras like dx9 and programs that I normally have to chase down the disk[s] for. It took a while, however it is done. It even installs without the need of inputting the serial number.
I just had to congratulate myself; the hard part was making it bootable. |

http://www.thetechguide.com/articles/slipstream.html The setupp.ini file in the i386 folder is the one you edit for not having to input your serial number. Last edited by crjdriver; 05-21-2003 at 06:15 AM. |

I have not tried with my xp disk yet, however it should work fine. That is my project for next week; I leave for a four day trip in the morning.

It works fine with XP as well.
Here's an excellent guide: http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp1_cd.htm |

Crjdriver,
What burning software did you use to make the disc bootable? I followed several links and it mentioned that newer versions of nero/easy cd would do the trick. Edrod13

I use Nero 5.5.10.20. When you make the boot disk, you must enable expert settings, set emulation to none, and increase the number of loaded sectors to 4. I use an image file for the bootable image. I just finished a win2k advanced server disk for a friend; integrated with sp3.
