PCHealth

Have never found an answer to this. Can the contents of PCHealth folder be deleted if System Restore is disabled? I just hate to see 22 megs of space taken up.

How big is your HD ? 10,20,40,80 GD ???

22 md is nothing to worry about and as for System restore !
That has saved my BUTT acouple of times in the past year when something go's bad

Or you can resize the space used for sys restore by right clicking on my computer then left click on properties then left click on system restore there you can turn it off or move the slider so it uses less space or you can clean up the most recent restore points by double clicking on my computer then right click on your harddrive icon then click on properties then select disk clean up then when it's done scanning click on the More Options tab and there you can clean up restore points

But I would not just get rid of the PCHEALTH folder it's there for a reason not just to take up HD space

Thanks for the replies. Toomyg- I'm not concerned about the space. I've only got XP and a few programs on a 40 gig HD. My files, etc, are on drive E. It's just that I haven't been able to find out anything about PCHealth. I'm told by some it's part of Sys Restore, and by others that it contains necessary files. I shut off Sys Restore because I think you are in the minority. Most posts I read talk about how Sys Restore won't. I don't want to waste time with it. I'd rather re-install. OK, reboot, I'll give it a try. Was told by a guy some time ago that it could be deleted, but his post was immediately followed by a guy saying he had major probs when he did it.

System restore works really well, IF you manually set a restore point, and only want to restore to that point.
For whatever reason, the automatic restore points just don't work a lot of the time.
I know there's some fix on the MS site, but who cares?
Once system restore is disabled, then you can safely delete it.
I have XP on 4 out of 5 systems here, and only have system restore active on 3 of them, and only the boot drive (on a multiple partition system). I don't need system restore on storage space, but my kids love to mess things up, and system restore has worked every time, using manual restore points. All other PCHealth and System Volume Information folders have long since been deleted.
