spoolsv.exe using up all the CPU in Task Manager

Firebrick Times I just need to find out what the deal is with a task that is running in the background that is using all my CPU usage in the Task Manager. It is called, spoolsv.exe and it keeps spiking up to 100% for a couple of seconds and then drops back to 0%. I can't figure for the life of me what the heck keeps causing this to happen. It doesn't happen all the time but the last time it did I had to reload to get it to stop! Has anyone else had this problem? There has got to be an easier way to fix this without having to reload...Please Help!!! Image Name User Name CPU Mem Usage. spoolsv.exe SYSTEM 99 13,556 I think it is happening because of my Lexmark X125 not for sure though but I only have a few gray hairs left on my head to pull out...lol! Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

You are right: it has something to do with your printer. That is the printer spooler, which collects print information and sends it to the printer when it is ready. You can go to the properties of the printer and set it to not use spooling, but that may slow down printing.
