go to the folder that you the hidden folder is in. then go to tools > folder options > view tab > under Hidden files and folders, select show hidden files and folders. you will see your folder.

if you want to do that on your (stand alone) own pc, i think you'll need separate software. (to block folders accessed from the pc itself i mean)
If you're referring to password protecting folders on a home lan or so,you just right click on the drive or folder and choose properties, sharing.

You don't have to share a folder to password protect it. Your sig says you're running 2k so you have the option to use NTFS. So if you're running FAT32 you'll need to convert the drive to NTFS. This can be done w/ a simple DOS command called 'convert'. Once you're running NTFS, just right click on a folder, go to properties, then security. This will allow you to set permissions for that folder. If you're unfamiliar with doing this I suggest you "practice" on a dummy folder first b/c you can lock yourself out as well.

Check out a program called Magic Folders.
http://www.pc-magic.com/ It makes the folders you select invisible and requires a password to make them show and be accessible. I have used this program for years on several different computers. Mike |
