Wierd Icons

can someone please explain this?

note missing quick launch icons squeezed down/missing desktop icons

How long has this been happening? Have you checked for virus/spyware/adware lately? HTH

P.S. You may want to shrink that screenshot down a little bit. If I weren't on broadband I would probably not have looked at it due to its size.

Its not the image size - its the fact that it's really a .bmp, you didn't actually convert it to .jpg.

Install TweakXP for WinXp and use the clear the icon cache feature, that could fix the problem.

By the way, that's a disturbing wallpaper.
