windows xp register and activation

Hello all. I am in the process of changing my celeron 1.8 Ghz processor to a P4 2.4 Ghz 533 Mhz processor. Iam using windows XP home edition as the OS. My question is, will the OS recognize the pc as a NEW machine by changing the processor and cause me to ACTIVATE and register again? Also
if I ever have to reload XP will the change of processor cause the OS or microsoft to see my PC as a different machine during activation and registering?

thanks,

please advise,

God Bless,

Robert

The change of CPU shouldn't require you to reload windows.

However, it may trigger an activation, but this is a hassle free process (just a phone call to Microsoft or over the internet)

I don't think it would though, isn't it 3 pieces of hardware you can change before activation is required?

It probably will not with just a processor change but even if it does need U to activate winxp again just do it, it's no big deal...You just call the 800 number and they will give U reactivation code.
