WORD - Macros Disabled Annoying BEEP!

Good morning, folks -

My boss just called me in and asked me why her machine always beeps when she opens a WORD attachment out of Netscape mail. A little box comes up that says that as her macros are disabled no macros will be loaded.

No big deal - doesn't affect the documents in any way - except that it drives her crazy as each time she opens WORD attachments it beeps at her.

I didn't want to mess around with it in front of her, expecially as I am more of the 98SE sort, so I was wondering if someone could help me disable this message. I am sure that security has dictated that macros be disabled from attachments and I don't necessarily want to open her up to harmful scripts, but could I just turn off the warning?

From within Word

Tools --> Options --> Security --> Macro Security. Change the Macro Security down to Medium, should sort it. she should now get a box if there is a macro and she can either say Yes or No to running it, instead of a straight No. You can whack it down to Low and all Macros will be ran no questions asked, this isn't a good idea for the reasons you list.
