DUNS 624 Error
I'm not using the Dell for this thread.
XP Installed by Dell on Brand New 4550 BUT The PC had only 128 mg at the time. It now has 640. Could the 128 have caused the install to fail or be incomplete? Could I even be using XP if the install had not completed? The PC came without a modem. I put one in and wanted to fire up some free aol. aol grabbed info from the net but aol failed when XP wanted a list of ISPs to choose aol from. I get a DUNS error 624 say the phone book file is missing. The recommendation is to remove and re-install networking components including dial-up networking. Has anyone had to remove and re-install components after a "clean install?" What would happen to the ntfs files if I re-install all of XP? If that is even an option. I certainly don't think reinstalling windows is what U need here. First things first -- Did the modem install properly and is it functioning proper aside from AOL. Check device manager, and ControlPanel>Phones&Modems to check this out.. I have a feeling the modem didn't install properly...
