Need default settings

Using laptop with a 14" monitor ..... But For some unknown reason it displays everything larger than the screen. Everything wants to be on a 16 inch monitor.

How do we reset the desktop image to default so everything can be viewed at once?

Using Windows 98.....Laptop is 3 years old. Thanks.......George

I just had the same problem, I changed the type of monitor (I wasn't sure of the manufacturer) to a generic laptop monitor 800X600 and it worked.

Right click my computer --> properties --> device manager, double click on "Monitors" and then on your monitor, right click on it and choose Uninstall

Click yes a few times and your computer will restart. After this, everything should be fine (although you will need to do a right click on your desktop --> Properties --> Settings and change the resolution and colour depth back to the defaults (probably either 800x600 at 32bit or 1024x768)

HTH, Thanks,

Jim
