My windows2000 laptop just got a fresh reinstall and I was attempting to put WinXP Pro on also but decided not to but now that I started the setup every time I boot up it gives me the boot loader and a choice of "Windows2000" or "WindowsXP Pro Setup" I don't want WindowsXP setup on the boot loader anymore. I tried to repair the win2000 installation but it didnt clear the boot. Anybody know of a way to get me back to just win2000?

I'd suggest a clean install of w2k. Seeing that you just did a fresh install, there's not much reason to fool around. Format and reinstall. You'll be glad you did...

If all you want to do is to remove the entry for XP setup from your bootstrap then just edit boot.ini from your Windows 2K root. (typically C:\), then remove the line corresponding to the entry for XP.
The files that may have been copied to your computer during your interrupted installation wil depend on how far you got with your setup and will continue to remain on your drive. |

I don't exactly want to reinstall all over again, It's kinda of a pain because My toshiba is built for XP and I put win2000 on there cause I hate how XP home runs on my laptop but it takes an extra hour to put 2000 on there with all the random drivers it needs. Thanks for the suggestions, I'm going to attempt to edit the boot.ini file
wish me luck
