reinstalling Windows XP
Good day
I have XP Home Edition on my computer at present. I have XP on the C drive, my applications on the D, games on the E and photos and music on the E. My windows has been acting wierd lately and I want to reinstall. Do I need to format the whole harddrive as Windows will need to know where all my apps are located so will I need to reinstall everything? Thanks Haggis |

Try doing a repair first. Boot with XP CD and follow instructions. I've done it twice. Good results once and didn't fix problem other time.
You will have to reload SP1 and updates. Programs and applications sould not be affected. Chas

If the suggestion that Confused gave you doesn't work and you reformat you will only need to framat the C partition to reinstall XP.
