Hi,
I have Win NT2000 on laptop and would like to install Win98 aswell. how do i go about it (the best/easiest way). wat software will i need (ie bootmanagers so i can select at startup which OS to run). its a single hard drive, not partitioned. thanks. |

99% Certain that your NT drive is formatted NTFS. Win98 can't handle that at all. You'll need to add a second hard drive or purchase Partition Magic. Both are in the $150 dollar range.

so lets c....
firstly i format my drive(cause it already has NT) then install partition magic (will this run non-windowed?) then install win98 on c:\ and winNT on d:\ ??? is this right? and after that how do i select which OS to start with on bootups? thanks |

First we need to know if it's NT, or 2K that you have, because there's a significant difference.
You partition the drive, into at least 2. Format the first partition. Install 98 on it. Install 2K on the other partition. This should give you the boot menu. If you don't have 2K, but do have the original NT, then things get more complicated. Last edited by reboot; 06-03-2003 at 10:18 AM. |
