Update files on network.
Is it possible to access another computer thru dos? Not real dos but the command window from Windows.
What I want to do is write a batch file to update files on computers on my home networks, such as AVG updates. So I don’t have to go from computer to computer one by one to update there antivirus. So what I will do is update one computer and I want the other computers to check for files in this directory (When they boot up) and if it finds files it will copy them to the update directory. I know I can do this manually from one computer but I rather not have to think about it and have it done automatically. If this isn’t possible could someone point me in the right direction? Any help appreciated. Systems are WinMe and WinXP and Win2k

the 'Offline Folders' feature in Windows allow the synching and updates files in a network during log on and log off. Read more about it, maybe it is sufficient to meet your needs.
I'm not sure if ME has the Offline Folders feature. But I know all of them have the 'Briefcase' feature which is supposed to be used to synch files as well. |

You should be able to do it with batch files if you map drives.
