How To Avoid Vertical Stacking on Taskbar?
Hello everyone,
I have Windows XP Professional as my OS (formerly Windows 2000). In Windows 2000 I was able to open numerous program windows and browser windows and have them all appear in the taskbar - they would just stack horizontally across the taskbar. I could then easily switch between programs by just clicking on the appropriate tasks/programs at the bottom. Now in Windows XP, after about 4 windows (say 4 browser windows), the tasks don't stack horizontally anymore. Instead they stack vertically and I have to run my mouse over the task, let the task expand vertically, and select the appropriate window. What a hassle! Is there any way of allowing tasks to expand horizontally across the task bar as I open more windows, versus this clunky vertical stacking? I've tried right clicking and everything I can think of, but can't get around this. Can you help? Thanks! N- |

Uncheck 'group similar taskbar buttons' under Taskbar Properties. Of course, you will lose the horizontal grouping effect as well.
