Question Norton AV and Windows XP

Norton AV is loading on boot disabled. I can enable it. In Norton options it is set up to be enabled. Norton said the auto-protect service is not running in the Windows service . How can I check on this?

I have gone into Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services found Norton antvirus AutoProtect Services set to manual. I changed it to automatic.Don't know how it got that way but hopefully my problems are over.

run a online scan just in case a virus dissabled norton try this site http://housecall.antivirus.com/

I went into Control Panel/ Administrative Tools/ Dervices/ Norton Antivirus Auto Protect Service. It was set to manual, so I changed it to automatic. It is doing fine now .
