stopping downloads
Hi Guys,
I am usin Windows XP Pro I wld like to know if there is anyway that I can disable a user from downloading from the net. And also that .exe is denied to execute except those already installed earlier. 2nd Is there anyway to diable a user without deleting the user. As in temporarily diable the user. Whn I want I can enable them again Thx aceMan |

I don't think you will be able to accomplish the above under XP Pro itself. There could be some 3rd party software that could let you do that, I am not sure.
To disable accounts, just go to Computer Management -> Groups and Users -> and then Properties of the account. |

In IE, you can disable all downloads.
Tools > internet options > "security" tab >custom level > find "downloads" in the list and choose to either enable or disable.
