What is the best win2k server book?
What are the best win2k server books that are not like 70000 pages long and weigh 60 lbs?

I like the books by Syngress, but if you want something light then I guess Server for Dummies might work.

I have Mark Manasi's Windows 2000 Server book, but it's in the 70,000 page 60lb category.
![]() The problem is, the topic doesn't lend itself to 100 page pocket sized books.

Peter Norton's "Complete Guide to Windows 2000 Server" is a pretty good place to start. It's what I used when I first migrated my server to Win2K, and it's where I still go when in doubt. Also, "MCSE Training Kit–Microsoft Windows 2000 Server" from Microsoft Press is a great resource.

When you get sick of the dummies guides you can always grab a copy of "Inside Windows2000"... and learn about context changes, afinity, spin locks, and other neat things.
