Question startup menu problems

is there somewhere other than the start - settings - start menu that you can add and remove programs with. I have several things in my start up menu that I don't want there but when I go to the traditional start menu remove they aren't there. Is there somewhere else I should be looking? thanks so much.

Programs that run on startup may be in the startup folder, or in the registry. If you are comfortable with the registry, you can search these keys and delete the programs you don't want to run:
HLKM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run
HLCU/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run

If you don't want to directly edit the registry, you can use msconfig like reboot said, or another program like jv16 Power Tools that will list startup programs.
