I can't seem to be able to figure out the problem with this OS; yesterday while playing Half-Life (only game at this house
) at a resolution of 800x600 the game went perfectly smooth. Then I went into msconfig to disable some of the annoying softwares, and to my surprise when I returned to the game it was extremly jerky. I even changed the resolution to a lower amount but it was still the same. Then I went back to msconfig to enable all the programs at restart and rebooted the system, returned to the game but it was again, choppy. What could be wrong? Thanks,

Does the game have a config type file within the directory of the game ?
This would be the file that holds info like screen res, game scores, type of hardware you have try deleteing that but back it up first just incase it don't work then restart the game see if this works |

it should be a file .cfg or .ini
It's a file thats written when the game is first ever ran or when settings are changed within the game it self this has fixed some problems with games I had or sleepypost's idea might be better if this file can't be located |
