Question How to find and save an animated icon

Hi,
I know this may have been asked before, but I'd really love to accomplish this. I was working on a friends computer, and when I went into IE (on win98) he had that cool running roadrunner icon that shows up in the upper right hand corner when the page is loading. Does anyone know how I can get that off of his pc and copy it on to mine. I should note that I'm using windows XP pro an all my machines. Is there a way to save that to disc and then install it? I would be very appreciative if anyone can help me out with this one. I know it's a toughy.
TIA,
Nelly

Do you want the roadrunner in your IE window?? I have no idea how to change it, but one way that might work is if you got his Roadrunner setup cd (assuming he has roadrunner from the roadrunner in the window) then install IE from the cd and voila, you have your roadrunner. Just be sure not to install anything else as it will prolly mess w/ your own connection.

The commonly used name for what you want to change is "throbber."

I got intrigued with your question and figured a quick Google search for "throbber file location" would yield the answer. About a zillion variations of search terms including the word "throbber" later and I still don't have the answer.

However, I found some freeware, EdenSoft My Logo which changes the throbber and it might help you locate where those files are stored ("might" being the key word there).

I may be wrong, but I believe the file yu want is usually stored in the directory C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Branding (if C: is the system home drive). Look there and copy the GIF and .ini files you find there and copy them to the same folder on your hard drive.
