here is a puzzle win 98 and free space
ok windows reports the hard drive had 12 GB free, out of 74 GB.
However when coping large files and back ups, of just a couple GB about 2 at the most, get errors out of disk space. I can find no virus, windows seems to be running good. Have a 450 K6-3/450 256 meg of ram DFI MB, with most updated bios have a promise controller card updated 80 GB WDC SE 8 meg cache hard drive Any ideas why it does not want to use the last 12 GBs? we have used them in the past.

never mind, found it. it was on my wifes computer so I had not checked it out much. I just run a scan disk and found allot of lost file fragments. deleted then and checked disk space is now reporting just under 2gb free now.
