Ok, heres the deal. I had Windows 95 on a really old computer. I was having tons of errors with the OS after installing some programs and couldnt get away from the errors so i decided to reformat. In msdos i typed format c: and it formatted blah blah blah. I restarted the computer changed my boot sequence to cdrom/c/a and started up and put the windows 95 disk in my computer. It came up with the error Invalid System Disk. I dont have a boot diskette and didnt save anything because im new to reformating and was basically an idiot. How do i go about loading windows 95 now on to the reformated drive? Can i use a cd or what? Thanks in advance.

Get a win98 startup disk at www.bootdisk.com one with CD-ROM support.
Boot to the diskette, and at the a:\ prompt, type: e:setup |

Heh, it's unusual that it would end up at "R", but so be it
![]() Glad it's working. |

. . . if you see a bunch of "Banana" cd-rom drivers (on the customized, RAM-disk version from bootdisk.com), a single hard-disk system "C" with a single cd-drive "D" ends up the the cd-drive "R". . .
[. . . for "Banana Republic" perhaps? . . . well, actually, I think they just thought R was a nice safe letter a long ways away from any other peripherals and drives you might have] It's quite a world, huh, when we get to find humor in Win98 bootdisks ![]() . . . Gary . . . and hey there reboot |

I actually purposely set my CD-ROM to "R", for Reader.
Helps keep it separate from my partitions "C" through "N", my virtual DVD drive "X", my real DVD drive "V", and my burner drive "W" (for Writer).

We'll give you an "A" in creative drive labels.
If only it weren't used already by some legacy device
