Question Takes Forever To Load ?

I am trying to do a fresh install of Win2K on one of my computers, booting from CD Rom. After pressing "F6" for RAID adapter, everyting moves until it get to the part "Windows is now starting. . . . . " It just set ther for days, and if it does move past that point everyting is a long slow process. It seems to pause on every operation.

I am all ears - Thanks Henry

Can you list the parts used in your build by manufacturer and model.

Are the hard drives jumpered properly? Should be set to CS or CSel (cable select) if you're using a 80 wire UltraATA IDE cable. Blue to motherboard, black to main hard drive and grey to slave device.

Now I just put everything back in the sys and it will not power up. Changed the power supply but still not power. I get the little power pop/ when I connect the power cord to the power supply, so I know there is juice coming in.

Once again I'm all ears

Cool

Seems like you have a short in the case. Take the mobo out and see if it will post outside of the case. Just use the mobo, RAM, and video card to see if it will post.

If it does then carefully put the board back in ensuring that no metal is touching any of the bottom side of the board except at the mounting holes.
