Annoyance

This is a small annoyance problem on my computer, can you please help me solve it?

Well, for a short while, I used MoZilla, then I switched back to Internet Explorer because my uncles friend, who I think would be a good help here when it comes to putting computers together and stuff showed me how to lower the ads attack on my computer, so i did, and now thats gone, but like now when someone would send me a link through AOL instant messenger or something like that it would show an error like for example "http://www.boringsite.com; Program not found", another thing (which is attatched) would pop up, while the site loaded.

can anyone help?

I already told my computer to set the internet explorer as my default application.

nevermind, i fixed it, i just had to reset the web settings off Internet Explorer.
