Disableing programs in mscofing

I'm running WIN98/SE and wanted to know if I can disable all programs under Startup in System Configuration Utility (alternativly msconfing in Start > run) or are there important ones that must not be disabled. Thanks.

You can disable them all if you want to, but I'd leave your anti-virus, Scanreg and Systray enabled.

Systray can be disabled if you go into Sound properties in control panel, and turn off the sound icon.
It's a good idea to keep scanreg though.
