Easy CD creator
I just built a new computer and I decided to use my old Plextor 12/10/32A for the CD-RW. However the software included with it (Easy CD Creator 4) is causing all sorts of problems. How should I resolve this situation, should I just get new software for it, because I tried to download patched from roxio and they didnt work and they say that I need to edit the system registry if i want to fix the problem. Thanks for your time.

I had Easy CD on my old 98se comp, came with the Phillips CD-RW. It was Adaptec then. Think Adaptec sold it to Roxio. I then bought the retail version of Easy CD 4. It was a pain in the rump to use and the computer would constantly lock up. Probably burned about 25% coasters. When I built my new system, I used a Liteon 52x CD-RW that came with Nero. I've used it about 4 months now and so far the Nero has been great. I'll never use Roxio stuff again.

I've had problems with Roxio and thier Ez CD Creator 4. It too came with a Phillips CD RW, and made some useless cdrs. You might have to lower the speed of the CDRW when burning, seeing yours is 12/10/32, you'd have to have it write at anything lower than 12X and Rewrite at anything below 10x....I'd reccomend getting Nero or NTI Cd Maker, there both good apps...

Roxio Easy CD Creator 4.0 (till 5.0) is not compatible with Windows XP. Uninstall it and upgrade to version 5.3 or above.
