2k Uh-oh!!

Just helped a friend upgrade his processor and ram, had to upgrade his bios to accept the faster processor. All that went fine. Today he calls me at work and says that he was getting page faults and before consulting me he decides to reload his OS (Windows 2000Pro) during the reload at some point he says it asked him for a password and he thinks he clicked the "Do Not Use Password" check box. Now though when he tries to log on it won't allow him to. Is there something that can be done or should he just boot from the CD and see if he can repair the installation?

Thanks
G
