I installed Windows98se twice and got two different outcomes. The first one I saved as a drive image and then reformated and installed W98se again. The strange thing is that in the first installation, the background desktop is blue while the second installation has the normal green background.
Also, the shutdown words "Safe to Shutdown" show up immediately when going to shutdown on the first installation, while on the second installation shutdown hangs about 20 seconds on a dark backdrop before finally showing the words "Safe to Shutdown." I already tried the shut down patch too and it didn't help. What could possibly be the difference between these two installations? [Edited by Harry on 12-12-2000 at 03:25 PM] |

The blue desktop has the Active Desktop turned on (view as a web page). The green one does not - its the "windows classic" desktop.

The only problem is that I don't have it set on Active Desktop. And I think Active Desktop usually has the Windows Logo at the top right of the desktop too and this one doesn't.
