I can't see what's in my Recycling bin

I don't know what I did wrong but now I can't see anything in my Recycling bin.Can you help me?

when you dubble click on it to open it is it empty did you deleate the contents or the recycle bin if not have you run any disk cleanup programs or do you have task sheduler set to run disk clean every wk

No but

I have a window washer,but normaly I can see what's in the recyle bin anyway.I know there is trash in there,I just can't see it when I open it up.

Can't figure why!

Check attchement you will see that the icon indecates that there is something in it.

next att shows that there is nothing,when in reality there is.

ok some times windows forgets whot icon to use right click the desk top select propteries on the desk top tab select customize desktop on the general tab check witch icon is set for empty bin if the corect icon is showen then highlight and hit change icon pick any icon from the box and apply and ok back to the desktop then repeat the above but this time chose the right icon and apply then ok to the desk top agen if this dont work post back

ok john dose the bin still show the full icon ? the next steep is to copy any file from your my doc folder and past it to the desktop then right click on the copy and send to rec bin then open the bin and see if it showen

Do you have any Norton products installed? If so, when you right click on the Recycle Bin, do you have the option to turn off "Protected Recycle Bin"? (Not sure of the exact wording but I do know that the word "protected" is in it somewhere).

If Norton is "protecting" the Recycle Bin, it won't let you view the contents the usual way (double-clicking to open).

When ever I delete anything,I cannot see it in the Recycle Bin. That is the problem

ok john open the rec bin chose view and select detalls then go to tool folder options view and tick show hidden file and folders and post back all so tell me wot programs are runing in the systom tray by the clock

This morning when I booted up it was back to normal.I have no idea why.Anyway it's ok for now anyway.Thanks for helping.
