A friend of mine recently installed Windows 2000 Pro in his new build. In the three days he had it running he caught 2 virus's . The first was a "worm" type I have no details on the second. The first time he didn't have his antivirus running, I'm not sure about the second time.To me this just seems like a lot. I've run Win98se for over 3 years with Norton's and caught only one virus(I had disabled Norton's for some reason and Whammo!!). My main question is Win 2000 more vulnerable compared to other OS's to virus's?

Operating systems on their own can't get virii, only the user can.
So, tell me, what exactly have you been doing to get all these virii eh? |

2K can be very secure, if set up right. Unfortunately, when the user clicks on something, such as a bad web page, it does as told.

I know he had a freebie antivirus program he downloaded. I made the suggestion that he upgrade to a better one.
