When logged on as administrator with "Log on as:" set to "Local System account", I receive the following error message when attempting to start the Windows Installer Service in the Services Console:
"Could not start the Windows Installer service on Local Computer. Error 5: Access is denied" When I change the "Log on as:" to use the Administrator account, I receive the following error message when attempting to start the Windows Installer Service in the Services Consol: "Could not start the Windows Installer service on Local Computer. The service did not return an error. This could be an internal Windows error or an internal service error. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator." I am running a single-user computer with Windows 2000 Professional. I am not connected to a network, just to the Internet via cable modem. I recently installed the Service Pack 3 for my computer. Should I try reinstalling Windows 2000??? Thanks |
