WinXP installed having problems.

I installed XP on my sisters new hardrive that someone had already to tried to install XP on and did not finish cause the disk said it was missing files.I put my XP disk in and installed.Well, after it had comepleted installation everything ran fine.I looked to see hardive details and it said it had used 4.5 gigs!! Is XP on there one full time, and one partial install? How can I wipe out everything and reinstall XP?Or fix this?

I did that on my sons PC.I clicked install then it had one partiton that was big ,the other was very small.I deleted the big one and went ahead with the install.I left the tiny partiton there.I dont remember making another patition. Is his comp going to be messed up?Or was that tiny partition enough.

one

No ,it just shows one.But there is no reason to have used 4.5 gigs loading windows.
I had loaded on mine the day before with all my other stuff and used two gigs.
I thought maybe where she had partially installed XP the day before on that new hardive it was in there still somehow.
