WinXP Pro / Home

I was just wondering, what is the difference between Windows Xp Home edition, and Windows XP Pro edition?

Xp pro has multi processor support and will enable you to log on to a domain. If you do not need either of those things, then home will work fine for you.

Here is something that may explain things and help you decide. As a general rule you don't need to pay extra for XP Pro at home.

Send a message via AIM to q2418130103p
Lets not forget simple filesharing with XP home.
If you want to be able to password you networks shares, similar to the style of Win 98, then get pro. XP home allows networking sharing, but your options are simply allow access and all right, or just all access, you cant use passwords to decide the level of user when using home.
